Income Tax Disclosure [Abstract] | |
Income Taxes | Income TaxesDuring the periods presented herein prior to the Merger, the Company reported income taxes on the consolidated income tax returns of Landsea Holdings since it was a wholly owned subsidiary of Landsea Holdings. The income tax provision and related balances in these consolidated financial statements have been calculated as if the Company filed a separate tax return and was operating as a separate business from Landsea Holdings. Therefore, cash tax payments and items of current and deferred taxes during that period may not be reflective of the Company’s actual tax balances. The effective tax rate of the Company was 36.5% and 32.0% for the three months ended March 31, 2021 and 2020, respectively. The difference between the statutory tax rate and the effective tax rate for the three months ended March 31, 2021 is primarily related to state income taxes net of federal income tax benefits, estimated deduction limitations for executive compensation, warrant fair market value adjustments, and tax credits for energy efficient homes. The difference between the statutory tax rate and the effective tax rate for the three months ended March 31, 2020 is primarily related to state income taxes net of federal income tax benefits and tax credits for energy efficient homes. |
